Pace yourself!
Pace yourself! This is Amsterdam's version of the Louvre -- there's a lot to see. They have kind of a 'greatest hits' exhibition hall that is quite nice and navigable in one visit but if you want to see the other floors I'd suggest going a second day. After awhile it's more than you can absorb. They have a really nice restaurant in the lobby and a cute coffeeshop tucked in a back corner if you need a break halfway through.

There's a fantastic collection of ship models in the basement. Oh, and Rembrant and Vermeer, but lots of other great art. You could spend all day here.
Buy timed tickets online, or walk straight in with a ticket from the museum shop out front. Same price.

Absolutely gorgeous museum.
Absolutely gorgeous museum. Definitely get there at opening (9a) and get a museum map -- it's super helpful and the entire museum is laid out chronologically by floor, area, so it's easy to pick the areas/eras you're interested in. The cafe is a nice stop for a break/snack. Gift shop has nice, reasonably priced items.

Superb collection.
Superb collection. Buy your ticket online in advance, but if you can use your mobile phone, download the Rijksmuseum app instead of taking the multimedia device for €5. They've got the same content.

We were disappointed to pay for a museum that heavily promoted a rare painting by Rembrandt only to not see the painting. The museum had a large piece of electronic equipment in front of the painting that was going to block the painting for 56 days. Just thought that should have been made known ahead of time to visitors during those 56 days.

The tv had 2 channels in English and they carried our bags downstairs when we left. They were helpful about getting us taxis and tried hard to helpme when I could not get my tickets to the Rijksmuseum open on my phone, but to no avail. The staff, with the exception of one person, was pleasant and helpful.
I loved the location of the hotel. It’s in the perfect in between of being just got the busy crowds plus you are down the block from the Rijksmuseum. There is breakfast and a cafe inside the hotel for convenience.
Definitely the thing we liked best was the location. We did several day trips and being just a 5 min walk from Central station was great! We also took advantage of using the tram stop right across from the hotel to get to the Rijksmuseum. The staff were also very welcoming and called our room to check that everything was good. The handwritten personalized notecard and Stroopwaffles at check in, and another left in our room along with a bag of chocolates on our last day were nice touches as well 🥰
The hotel is located very close to public transportation. So, this makes navigating the city very convenient. The hotel is also located within easy walking distance of museums such as Van Gogh, MOCO, and Rijksmuseum.
A sumptuously appointed hotel in the public areas. Tucked in a quiet neighborhood about a 15 minute walk to the Van Gogh and Rijksmuseum. Breakfast is a luxurious feast and staff is top notch. Our room was quiet and the bed was comfortable though not very wide.
Location was great; tram stop right in front of the hotel and easy walking distance to Museumplein (Rijksmuseum, van Gogh Museum, and more). Staff was excellent. Accommodations as advertised. Nice touches like 24 hour coffee drinks and tea as well as cookies and pastry items in the afternoon in a comfortable seating area. Strong wifi signal!
A cozy room sized at 24m2, comparing to the price, is a very good bargain. Variety of food in breakfast is good. Location wise, train from Schiphol airport to the nearest station (Amsterdam RAI) is only 15 minutes, and then a 5 minutes walking distance from the station to the hotel. Also , this hotel is only 4.5km away from the busiest spot of Amsterdam (DE 9 STRAATJES), this walk can pass through the best museums in Amsterdam (Van Gogh Museum and rijksmuseum).

I usually come here to the opera but there are plenty of nice things to do, such as visit museums, do the tour of the city by canal bus; my favourite quarter is around the Leidse plein. The Rijksmuseum is one of my best expériences and it is always a pleasure to visit this museum.
